rope_swing_tree.jpg

This is where we crossed the river/stream at our first river crossing.  The rocks were slippery, and so we used a rope to swing on the bending tree to swing onto the middle rock.  From there we hopped onto the middle rock where the boulder is on the edge.  Took a little bit to figure out on how to cross this part of the stream.  Short ways after the crossing, the trail lead us back to the river a little ways up north.  We tried not to cross the river again, but it was not possible to avoid it.  No picture was taken at the second crossing, and we eventually just forded our way through it, after removing our shoes and socks. The water was a bit cold, but we dried ourselves off after crossing.  On our return back to the trailhead, we found out that we did not need to cross the river, but since the trail was no visible anywhere, the trail lead us to the river.  In the spring or summer I can see why you will have to cross, because the tree will be full of leaves and blocks the path that we used on the way back from the Paradise Falls.
